ICONYX

ICONYX, a 17-year-old emerging artist from the East Kimberley, is a passionate songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and co-producer, ICONYX crafts music through a deep connection to tactile sound, offering sighted audiences an immersive and powerful experience. As an artist who navigates the world without sight, her storytelling, deeply influenced by her family roots of Kukatja, Pintupi mob, and the life growing up in the city on Whadjuk, Noongar Boodja, invites listeners into a unique sonic journey. 

Her upcoming album, set to be released through Skinnyfish Music, showcases her powerful voice and wide-ranging influences, blending hip-hop with the deep storytelling traditions of contemporary Aboriginal Australian music. 

ICONYX is no stranger to recognition, with three of her songs being nominated for WAM Awards in recent years. In 2022, she won the Act Belong Commit category for her track “Dawn of the Future.” 

ICONYX has a connection to the late Gurrumul and Archie Roach which is also deeply personal. Both families have granted ICONYX the rare permission to perform and reimagine their music, further cementing her significance in the Australian music landscape.
