Shaman Dance

Shaman Dance

“Shaman Dance” is a mesmerising exploration of the ancient art of shamanic rituals, paying homage to Princess Bari, worshipped by Korean shamans as the patron goddess of the afterlife. Drawing inspiration from mystical traditions, the song channels the spirit of transformation, with haunting melodies that transport listeners into the heart of an otherworldly life. The track follows on from their gorgeous tune “The Godly River”, which similarly marries sounds of folk, world and experimental music.

The Cloud Maker’s music takes audiences on a mythical journey, tapping into timeless power and the mysticism of legendary figures from diverse cultures. In “Shaman Dance,” the collective channels the pulse of witchy ceremonies, bringing together a blend of Maori language vocals by Te Kahureremoa Taumata, Aviva Endean’s prepared piano drones and explosive clarinet, Freya Schack-Arnott’s  virtuosic cello, Maria Moles’ bounding drums, and Sunny Kim’s evocative vocalisations.
